paper and flushed with clear water or repeated washing.Removes harmful bacteria such as E. coli, Fecal Coli form, Salmonella, Streptococcus,and cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia). Reduces bad taste and odor, sediment,and asbestos. Cartridge is washable up to 30 times. The flow rate of the ceramic filter can be easily renewed by simply brushing its outer surface with a stiff
toothbrush, plastic brush or soft scouring pad under running water. As the top
layer of ceramic and contaminants are brushed off, a new layer becomes available.
Do not use soap, detergents or steel wool.
WHAT IS A FILTER CARTRIDGE? (B-B) 2"10"
A filter cartridge is a ceramic tube, which is cast open at both ends (OBE). Both ends are then closed off with food grade plastic mounts, which enable the cartridge to fit into a filter housing. The mount at the base of the tube is completely closed. The mount at the top of the tube has an opening through which filtered water flows after it has passed through the ceramic. Particles of dirt, bacteria etc. are trapped on the outside of the cartridge.
